20 years on AG Floor Solutions Ltd has evolved into so much more working on some exciting projects and developing our range of services to now focus largely on floor tiling as well as wet and electric underfloor heating and pump applied renovation screeds.

Tile Backerboard

The suitability of the substrate to be tiled must be considered before any installation. Special attention must be paid to wet areas especially.

Tile backer boards are a fully waterproof and stable substrate for tile and stone installations and eliminate the common causes of tile failure associated with plasterboard and plywood. They offer the perfect solution for bathrooms, showers and wetrooms.

Used on floors and walls they are manufactured from high density extruded polystyrene, coated with polymer modified fibre reinforced cement to add strength and rigidity. Their thermal insulating properties also substantially reduce heat and work well along side with underfloor heating.

Whilst offering exceptional structural stability they are also light weight making them easier and faster to work with than all other types of building board.

Uncoupling Membranes

All materials expand and contract with temperature and moisture but at varying rates. If a tile is adhered directly to a substrate with different reactions to the environment this can result in tension and crack formation.

Uncoupling and crack membranes are installed between the substrate and the tile allowing the two layers to move independently therefore neutralising stresses and tensions that may otherwise result in tile failure. This ensures the installation lasts for years to come.

Some uncoupling and crack membranes are also waterproof and can be used in conjunction with other products as part of a tanking solution in wet areas.

There are even uncoupling membranes with integrated electric underfloor heating!

Wetroom Tanking

An increasing number of developers and homeowners are opting for floor level showers. These not only look great but provide accessibility where needed.

Wetrooms and bathrooms face daily usage and if they are not planned effectively issues can result, both within the immediate area and elsewhere in a property. To protect the fabric of the building the installation must be fully watertight.

Water resistant products absorb water overtime, but waterproof products keep it out permanently. There are tanking solutions to suit each project- from backer boards, waterproof coatings, and tanking membranes.

We have the experience of working with these different products and can specify the correct approach depending on the property and the project requirements.
