Tile Backer Board

The suitability of the substrate to be tiled must be considered before any tiles are installed. Special attention must be paid to wet areas especially.

Tile backer boards are a fully waterproof and stable substrate for tile and stone installations and eliminate the common causes of tile failure associated with plasterboard and plywood. They offer the perfect solution for bathrooms, showers and wetrooms.

Used on floors and walls they are manufactured from high density extruded polystyrene, coated with polymer modified fibre reinforced cement to add strength and rigidity. Their thermal insulating properties also substantially reduce heat loss and create a great solution for use with underfloor heating.

Whilst offering exceptional structural stability they are also light weight making them easier and faster to work with than all other types of building board.
